Born and raised in Portland, Oregon

Avid Lego collector and builder, who loves to display these all over the house. Who needs real flowers when you can build a bouquet and put it into a pretty vase?

First trip to Black Rock City was in 2013, thinking it was a “bucket list” thing, and then was hooked! Black Rock Ranger since 2017, Burn Perimeter Support Council (BPS)since 2019, and participated in helping establish processes and procedures for our team, & volunteers, as well as continually looking for talented volunteers to step up and grow in different roles beyond perimeter. That is where I started my “education” in being volunteer leadership, and year round volunteering, something I truly enjoy. Be careful-ask me anything about art burns, and you might not get me to shut up!

First SOAK was 2015, SOAK Ranger in 2017, and mainly focused on learning many roles needed to support our SOAK art burns, within SOAK Rangers. SOAK gave us a department of its own, specifically for “Fire Perimeter/Burn Support”, in 2023, which grew beyond providing perimeter, and added more roles each year, and I was a lead of the department through the 2026 season, and am almost retired from that role.

I enjoy both of the communities I volunteer for. There is a sense of solid community to be found in both, and I look forward to continuing that in the future.
